Roadmap to Recovery Top 10

$79.00

Reinventing the Real Estate Industry

In November, Inman News and our readers embarked on the Roadmap to Recovery, a future-focused editorial project that seeks a path forward for the real estate industry as it navigates through the rubble of this economic downturn.

As a part of this project we invited readers to contribute essays, respond to specific questions about the industry's future, engage in community discussions, and participate in two surveys (a Roadmap to Recovery survey and a Future of Real Estate Commissions survey).

In the many comments we received, there are some common themes: you told us the real estate industry must become more consumer-focused and tech savvy while keeping costs down by downsizing office space, shifting ad dollars online and draining the pool of unproductive agents.

The industry needs a new image and a higher degree of professionalism, an improved marketing strategy, and a concerted outreach to the "social-media butterflies" who are coming of age as real estate consumers, you also said.

We will explore and develop these themes in upcoming coverage, and we encourage your continued participation.

This report highlights the top-10 Roadmap to Recovery essay and Q&A contributions from our readers that have been previously published by Inman News.

Congratulations to Alisha Alway Braatz, a real estate professional in Bend, Ore., who submitted the winning Roadmap to Recovery essay, "Revolutionary thinking for real estate."
