Can I use money from my IRA for a downpayment without having to pay penalties?

Good question, i'm not sure. I know you can borrow against a 401k plan but I'm not sure about an IRA. I would ask your financial advisor, they should know the answer to that I would think.

I believe on my IRA account, I saw that I can give $10,000 to my children for down payment for their principal homes,t without paying taxes and penalty.
Please do not rely on this, check with the institution where you currently have your IRA
account.
