As a person and as a REALTOR®, I make every effort to be prepared, and to anticipate both challenges and opportunities. My clients benefit from my ability to combine a global, strategic perspective with an attention to detail that is so critical in real estate transactions. At the same time, it’s important to me that my clients and I both enjoy the process of real estate. Yes, it’s a big decision, and we all make better choices when we are relaxed and thinking clearly, so my goal is to provide guidance, be a sounding board, and provide the environment for a more than satisfying real estate sale or purchase.

Josh, I think technology progression is just one aspect of the shift that taking place. Besides utilizing new technologies, work flow and processes have to adapt. With consumers wanting agents to be "always on", there's the challenge of how to balance the inflow of messages, email, and more, so that optimal service is provided. And the issue is more than just one of responding to communications, it's a matter of completing the work that is generated as a result of those communications. For those of us who already generate a significant portion of our business electronically, the challenge now is one of creating a managable work environment, with a consistent level of client care, somehow with one hand always on a keyboard! So funny, and not, all at the same time. In Phoenix, we are cutting a new MLS system in late July, and it is viewed as a necessary upgrade to what we've been using. For those of us who've been involved with the selection and testing of the system (either directly or indirectly), moving to a tool more in tune to the times creates opportunities to better serve our clients. Realistically, moving thousands of users from one system to another is full of challenges and surprises. However, your biggest point came up in one of our meetings yesterday, "all I ever wanted from my MLS was the ability to share listings and offers of compensation with other agents, to search the database, and to print and save reports", and serves as a timely reminder of what real estate agents really need their MLS system to do, first and foremost.
