Hi there! I am the Community Manager here at Inman.com. If you have any questions about the site or anything at Inman, feel free to get in touch. I am happy to help however I can, or at least point you in the right direction.

When I'm not mixing it up here at Inman.com you can find me on my blog at RealEstateZebra.com. There, you will find my take on all things real estate. While I try to focus on issues related to technology and social media, the conversation wanders all over from time to time. I try to have a little something for everyone, blog posts, videos, anything to address industry issues in a fun and interesting way.

Phillip, The article is part of our "blog scan" features. In reading voluminous amounts of blogs (both about real estate and business), we like to highlight blog posts that our readers might find informative or relevant to their business. In this case, this change by the Boston-area MLS is part of a larger trend being seen in the MLS space of MLSs opening up their data more and more. At one time, MLS data was very tightly restricted, but with the proliferation of IDX and the demand of consumers, MLSs are loosening those restrictions everywhere, to the benefit of practitioners and consumers alike. http://www.RealEstateZebra.com

This is always an interesting issue to me. The fact is that hard-selling must work in some cases, at some times, on some people. If it didn't no one would do it. I don't like it either, but I don't think it is dead. Not yet. On the other hand, filling blimps with hydrogen worked, too-- until it didn't. The Hindenburg changed everything. The question is whether or not the psychology of consumers is, in fact, shifting in such a way that traditional methods of "hard-selling" are becoming less effective. Will there be a "Hindenburg of Sales" at some point? http://www.RealEstateZebra.com

Well said, Kris, and I know exactly what you mean. One must always know where one's strengths lie, and play to those. You do that well. Don't stop. http://www.RealEstateZebra.com
