aprsteam.com

This is my website. http://www.aprsteam.com
I was excited to start it, but seem to have lost my enthusiasm. Now it just seems boring. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Betsy

Just a few quick thoughts. First off, glad to see a Joomla RE site. It's a great platform and if we weren't using our own custom software it's what I'd be using for larger or more complex sites.

One thing that really struck me is that after spending about five minutes at the site I have no idea what part of the country you are in. Or even if you are in the US.

My guess is that the enthusiasm might be based on lack of any/many leads. So my suggestions are going to be focused on what you might do to help that:

1) Get more information about what kind of property/situations/geographic location you are best at. Pick a niche and a focus and go at it hard. This alone might help you with motivation.

2) Install a web analytics package so you can understand more about your existing visitors are interested in.

3) Clean up some of the navigation systems so there aren't three clicks to get to a fairly small and minimalistic Contact page.

4) I think the design could probably be improved some, but it's not as important as the previous three. And if you go at the design with tackling the previous three you might still end up unfocused, without a call to action and a confusing navigation system.

I hope that helps.

Take care,
g

I see why you think it is boring. It has no ZING! At least it does not look like a pre packaged site.

Why would I as a reader want to come back? All I see is generic information like I can see on 1000 other realtor sites or for that matter the same stuff I might read in you newspaper or magazine ad.

The nice thing about the web is space is essentially free - use it. For example, you show your agents but don't tell anything about them. How about a little bio for each agent?

How about some info about the local community. Show yourself as the expert.

You have a blog but you only have one post. The blog can be a reason for people to come back. And our messages can position you as the expert.

I hope this gives you some ideas. Good luck,

Ned Carey

Betsy - We are very excited because we just launched our new Hawaii real estate website. We tried to keep it simple and easy to use for the consumer. Maybe you need something like that.
