MSN REPORTS AN UNEXPECTED RISE IN PENDING HOME SALES FIGURES
Posted in Real Estate Bloggers By Gene Urban -- The Urban Team, Friday, August 8, 2008.MSNBC.com reported that pending home sales rose "unexpectiedly" in July based on NAR's seasonally adjusted index of pending sales for exisitng homes.
I found the term, unexpectedly, a bit surprising. Talking with Realtors across the country, I've consistently heard sales are on the rise in many markets. Logically, pendings must be as well.
Once again, national new sources are behind the times in their reporting. Could some of you report the month by month sales for 2008 in your markets? It would be nice to have a national picture based on real stats.

I was also surprised when I ran statstics for July.
I am in Salt Lake City, UTah.
The number of units sold in May 2008 compared with May 2007 was down 40%.
When I checked July stats, we were only down 25%.
WOW how incredible is that?
For once I could call all my Sellers with a little good news.
It was greatly appreciated.
