Real Estate Bloggers - What Platform?

Wordpress and Blogger blogs seem to be among the most popular platforms for bloggers online. Over at Single Property Sites, we just launched a Real Estate Marketing blog and we used Wordpress to do it.

However, a bunch of other Content Management Systems exist out there...Drupal, Movable Type, etc....all with various levels of technical complexity. Is anyone using anything other than Wordpress or Blogger? What's your opinion? I looked at Drupal extensively, and it seems like it would be great for building a more advanced community. Is anyone focusing on these community attributes?

Hi Paul,
I use Wordpress for my on-site blogs, but participate in many communities and some proprietary powered blogs from local newspapers and tv stations. I've looked at Drupal and Joomla and prefer Joomla because of the amount of support and knowledge that appears to be out there for Joomla.

I personally like Joomla also. There are loads of features and support and there are also well over 3000 extensions or add ons which is comparable to Wordpress. I would definately recommend Joomla to anyone looking for a good CMS system as well as anyone just wanting a good easy to manage program to build there site.

If all you need is simple blogging, Wordpress Multi-User is a fine choice.

If you want to get heavy with a community-features site, I would go with the other guys and recommend Joomla. Joomla with the Community Builder component in particular. It's an excellent, mature platform with decent documentation.

For end-user clients I find that Joomla and that class of software have a steeper learning curve.
