THE XXIX OLYMPIAD

Recap of Beijing
Mark Spitz's 36-year old record of 7 gold medals at one Olympic event, across all Olympic sports, was shattered when 23-year-old swimming machine Michael Phelps grabbed his 8th gold in Beijing and 14 all-time gold medals. Who will ever forget his 0.01 of a second photo-finish with Serbian - Wow.
But not lost in the moment was the impressive 41-year-old Dara Torres who took her career tally to a record-equaling 12 swimming medals while another US first came in the Women's Individual All-Around Gymnastics, when friends and roommates Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson brought home gold and silver.
Highlights by other countries included the Chinese demolishing the competition by winning all 4 gold medals in the men’s and women’s Synchronized 3m Springboard and the men’s and women’s Synchronized 10m Platform. Zimbabwe’s Kristy Coventry, who had won three silvers already in Beijing, finally struck gold in the women’s 200 backstroke placing her medal count third only behind the US and Australia.
Jamaica’s Usain Bolt became the fastest man alive in winning the Olympic 100 meters in a breathtaking 9.69 seconds, and Wimbledon champion, Rafael Nadal, gave Spain first ever gold in tennis by winning the men’s singles.
Awesome record breaking first week.
At Inman Real Estate Community
In the prelims for the title “Real Estate Pacesetter 2008,” over 40 players from various different disciplines entered. Some participants lacked motivation while other entries were unfortunately disqualified due to incomplete submission papers. Selection was very hard as nominations were from completely different fields, but as far as possible I tried to stay true to the criteria posted on the original thread:
1. Innovative Web 2.0 company or user of Web 2.0 technology
2. The size, need and demand for the companies/services
3. The quality or uniqueness of their services
4. The potential impact of their services on the industry
So with that in mind, based on the information received and browsing websites on Sunday afternoon, I present to you the 8 finalists:

YOUR VOTE determines the Winner!
This is the strongest (actually the first but strongest sounds more Olympian) finals in years, with no clear winner. The judges’ scores (members of the Inman Real Estate Trends Group) will determine the final outcome in this closely contested race.
Record your vote on the post (before this Friday 22nd, 6:00PM Pacific) by listing your three proposed medal winners, for example:

No commentary is necessary at this stage. Votes will be tallied and medalist will be announced this Saturday, August 23rd.
